Different Paths in Quality Education

MOHAMETANO, ATHENA GLENN M.   Grade 11: Bl. Peter of Gubbio

Quality Education for me, means an education that puts students up to their potential, skill, knowledge, and values they need to learn to succeed in life, both academically and personally. Before I started studying at USJ-R, I was in a public school. The lack of resources, Outdated textbooks, insufficient learning materials, and overcrowded classrooms, made me feel that  education isn’t valued as much as it should be. I gained insight into how other schools handle education by switching schools during my senior year of high school. My experience has expanded my perspective on quality education, taking into account not only the curriculum but also the learning environment.

One of the primary issues is the lack of resources, materials and facilities, particularly in public schools, where it is challenging for teachers to deliver interesting, practical lessons due to outdated textbooks, limited learning materials, limited access to technology, and a not so comfy classroom. Students who require more support may fall behind and due to these difficulties. The difference between public and private schools highlights the ongoing struggle for equal access to quality education. Public schools are essential to providing education to the general public, even though private intuitions like USJ-R might offer the best learning environment. The main obstacle is finding a way to overcome these resource constraints so that all children, regardless of the type of school they attend, may succeed academically and personally.

Promoting high-quality education is crucial to the development of society because it equips everyone with the skills and information needed to make bigger improvements to the economy and community. Excellent quality education encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Around the world, education has been crucial in lowering poverty and increasing employment possibilities. Individual potential enhancement will lead to economic and societal advancement.

Thanks to technology, students today have quicker access to a variety of online textbooks, research materials, and educational videos than they did in the past when they had to visit libraries and purchase pricey books. However, students were able to cheat on exams due to the availability of access to advanced AI tools, which encouraged laziness and undermined the integrity of the educational process. Despite these drawbacks, technology continues to have a big impact on education as long as its usage is managed to minimize drawbacks and promote moral behavior.
