QUALITY EDUCATION THAT WE ALL DESERVE
The topic that I have chosen is the topic about quality education. To me, quality education is more than just learning from books. It actually helps us grow in many ways. One way is for us to think clearly. As human as we are, we don’t think right all the time naturally, but we can learn to. As we are educated, it improves our thinking skills. Another is for us to handle our emotions. Growing up, I find it hard to control my feelings and emotions because sometimes I let them control me. Also in getting along with others, because I have social anxiety too. But quality education prepares us for life by developing some of our skills and helping us to communicate well. In short, it helped me become better and it continues to help me grow and become a well-rounded person.
I am an observant person. I love to observe the things and situations happening around me. This includes the challenges that the teachers and learners faced in achieving quality education. I noticed how there are teachers nowadays that lack training or do not have enough resources, and this often leads to ineffective teaching to the class. If most of our teachers are facing these challenges, it would be hard for the learners to achieve the quality education that they deserve. Learners also face the problems of not having enough books, computers, or any academic related stuff. These can affect how well the students will learn.
It’s very important to promote quality education for me because this will have many positive impacts and contributions to the development of our society. Example of this is when a person has successfully achieved quality education, they can get better jobs and improve their status or standard of living. If a lot of people will experience this, it leads to economic growth and solves social problems in life. I believe that education is the key to success, as cliché as it sounds, but for me, it really reduces poverty and leads to more equal opportunities for everyone. It will always result in positive changes and progress.
Technology has actually changed education a lot. It makes learning more interesting for the students through using online resources as tools in teaching and for the communication of the students and teachers. But of course, it also has its disadvantages. One thing is that not everyone has equal access to technology, and this can create gaps between the students. Plus, relying too much on digital tools might take us away from the traditional learning methods and ways. That is why in order to maintain a good and quality education, we must have proper control and discipline when it comes to this.
I can contribute to promoting quality education in my community or professional environment by allowing myself to explore new things. It is an advantage for me now that I am studying in University of San Jose Recoletos, because they offer a lot of extracurriculars that help people and the volunteers themselves. One example of these are the activities like tutoring students outside the campus or doing community outreach programs that are school-related. Even the small actions, like volunteering in these educational events, can make a big difference. As I do these things, I am successfully contributing to create better learning opportunities for everyone that can result in quality educations.
